The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is widely reckoned as one of the most famous & successful countries on the planet. Nowadays, it’s not only famous for the oil, but also famous for active adoption of new & advanced technology throughout the country, and numerous magnificent constructions.
Mecca (Mekka), one of the biggest cities in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is one of the most famous holy places for Islam. In the city, there’s the Great Mosque of Mecca which is regarded as the No.1 holy mosque in the world. Every year, millions of Muslims take visit to and worship in the Great Mosque of Mecca.
As the biggest holy mosque in the world, the Great Mosque of Mecca is capable to receive more than 2.5 million worshippers at the same time after its 3rd expansion to increase its total area to 812,000 sqm at a cost of about 22 billion US dollars. And it’s still expanding based on a plan of investment of 100 billion US dollars by KSA government. That’s marvelous!
Hantai firesleeve is proud to be approved and adopted for use in the 3rd expansion. It took 6 months to get the final approval after strict evaluation & testing of two types of firesleeves, the Hantai electrical firesleeve & Hantai firesleeve, standard.
Hantai firesleeve, standard, was chosen finally. The main difference between the two types of fire sleeves is briefly described as that firesleeve, standard has an overall better performance for both electrical insulation & fire resistance except its higher cost than electrical firesleeve. The final decision indicates the great attitude & determination to achieve a safer and more secure condition for this great project.
22 billion plus 100 billion, the numbers tell us that it is no doubt one of the biggest and grandest construction projects in the world history. It’s a great honor for Hantai taking part in this project, by supplying our firesleeve for the marker lights in raised floor at Haram Building, for purpose of electrical insulation and fire resistance for lighting cables. With the permission from the customer, we’re able to demonstrate the approval paper to others.

Firesleeve, since its invention, has been demonstrating a wide variety of functions and applications, with increasing and more extensive use of firesleeve to protect hoses and cables under hostile high-heat environments, particularly in industries like metallurgy, steel mills, glass work, marine industry, petrochemical industry etc, thanks to its unique function of flame resistance and shedding molten splashes.
Now there came another excellent example of Hantai firesleeve application in power, electricity and building industries, in terms of electrical insulation and fire resistance properties.
Firesleeve has been a core production item in Hantai since its establishment. We have been continuously making progress in improving quality and research on new products.
Besides the new product launches in recent years, Firesleeve Priority (alternative to Industrial pyrojacket) and Firesleeve First (alternative to Aerospace pyrojacket), we have successfully developed another new product this year by relying on firesleeve enormous R & D capability, the Brown S Thermal Protection Sleeve.
This new product will make its first debut in SEMA SHOW 2023 in Las Vegas.
