Impacts of China’s Eased COVID Restriction

Hantai has managed to minimize the impact of the new measures on our production since China eased COVID restrictions last December, including rescheduling the work shifts of the Firesleeve workshop, Insulation Shields workshop and warehouse, and the rational deployment of manpower.

Since last December, China has been further adjusting and optimizing the response to COVID, progressively taking new measures on our own terms, in line with the current worldwide measures to prevent the disease. From 8 January, 2023, all incoming passengers are no longer subject to post-arrival nucleic acid testing and centralized quarantine. These new measures are beneficial to social and economic development.

However, there were indeed challenges in the early days of the new measures. For example, in the just past December, many people in China were infected with COVID and had to rest at home for 7-10 days. This brought a situation of manpower shortage to all industries and fields, which had inevitably affected the in-time supply and manufacturers’ production schedule.
Under these circumstances, Hantai has managed to take every means to minimize the disease’s impact on our production.

  • Rescheduling the work shifts of the Firesleeve workshop, Insulation Shields workshop and warehouse in advance to avoid aggregated infections, which helped to ensure that the infected staff had enough rest and recovered soon, so as to keep our production running.
  • Rational deployment of manpower. At the beginning of January, the packing team was lack of workers, so our colleagues in the office went to help pack the fire sleeve, silicone coated fiberglass fabric, silicone rubber self-fusing tape, etc.

Unfortunately, even so, some of the production was still inevitably delayed due to the limited materials and manpower shortage.
There is forecast saying that there may be another wave of infection in the coming months, so we are preparing for the possible challenges of delayed material deliveries and occasional manpower shortage.

Benefiting from our new 10,000 sqm warehouse, there is enough space to keep sufficient materials for our regular production and finished products, such as fire sleeve, silicone coated fiberglass fabric, silicone rubber self-fusing tape, etc.

On one hand, Hantai is planning to increase the inventory for the possible challenges coming.
On the other hand, we would kindly suggest our customers allow a longer delivery period for the next orders to cover some possible contingencies.

China just starts to experience similar to what a lot of other countries experienced in the past one to two years. COVID does bring challenges to regular business running. Though Hantai is working hard and gets prepared as much as possible, customers had better take the COVID influence into consideration. In a word, the order delivery time might be longer than planned.
Hantai will always work closely with our customers. If any support is needed, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
