Hantai® firesleeve (an alternative to pyrojacket) is made from high quality fiberglass sleeve (braided or knitted), then coated with silicone rubber.
When exposure to high temperature, the outer coated silicone rubber can transform into a crust, creating a protective SiO2 refractory layer, which can shed molten metal splash immediately (including molten glass, molten steel, and molten aluminum), and stop the flame, so that very little heat can occurs.
Temperature rating:
– Inner fiberglass sleeve: 1020°F (550°C)
– Outer silicone rubber: continuous use to 500° F (260°C);
15-20 minutes to 2000°F (1090°C) ;
15-30 seconds up to 3000°F (1650°C).
When installing Hantai® firesleeve on your hydraulic hoses, and hoses /cables/ tubes used in foundries, iron plant, steel plant, oil & chemical plant, automotive and train, etc. it can perfectly protect hoses /cables/ tubes when in contact with extreme heat, flame, molten splashes, saving time for routine maintenance as so to improve the life of your equipment and production efficiency.
