Brief Description: Hantai marks its debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, North America’s largest construction and mining expo. This article explores MSHA-approved protection for hydraulic systems and the industry shift toward custom removable insulation blankets for enhanced engine exhaust performance and worker safety.

A Milestone at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026
Hantai team just finished its exhibition at Conexpo-CON/AGG 2026, North America’s largest construction and mining expo. It was a milestone for us, Hantai first exhibition at this massive event.

With over 2,000 exhibitors and massive machinery on display, it’s always a solid reality check on where the industry stands. For our team, the show was a direct reflection of what we do every day. Modern heavy equipment is a network of high-pressure hydraulic systems, and those systems are vulnerable.

MSHA-Approved Solutions for Rugged Equipment Protection
We met a lot of customers discussing two of our cores, MSHA-approved solutions:

Fire Sleeve
(MSHA IC-369/02)

For heat protection near engines, manifolds, weld spatter and heat sources.

Whether it’s a dozer in a coal mine or a crane on a construction site, rugged, flame-resistant hose protection is universal.

The Evolution of Engine Exhaust Systems: Removable Insulation Blankets
While our focus is on hydraulic lines, we couldn’t help but notice something interesting mostly regarding engine exhaust systems, specifically, how they’re protected on heavy trucks and large industrial equipment.
For example, traditionally, you see metal exhaust shields made of stainless steel or wire mesh at the exhaust pipe outlet. They’ve been the standard for years. But this time around, we spotted more than a few rigs using custom removable insulation blankets instead.
That got us thinking: for the same application, insulating a hot exhaust, what’s the real difference between these two? And more importantly, which one makes more sense for today’s equipment and safety needs? Please contact us if you have any comments to share or want to check more info.
From there, we got thinking about the older method traditional, you know the stuff—fiberglass tape wrapped around pipes to contain heat. It works, but compared to today’s options? Feels dated.
Why Switch to Removable Insulation Blankets?
For regular readers of Hantai Newsletter, the benefits of removable insulation blankets are quite well acknowledged and obvious.

A Critical Safety Detail: Preventing Inhalation Hazards
One last thing we want to bring to your attention.
Hantai always pays attention to details. At the show, we spotted a removable insulation blanket supplied by another vendor where the inner lining of insulation wool was exposed, held only by a steel mesh. This creates a potential risk, tiny fibers from the wool can escape, posing an inhalation hazard to workers.
At Hantai, we add an extra fabric layer between the insulation wool and the steel mesh to minimize this risk. The cost difference is small, but safety, especially for operators and maintenance staff, always comes first.
