The image of a tailor has existed for thousands of years, with a proficient man measuring sizes with a cloth tape. It’s an exquisite task to figure out the perfect size for the body.
In Hantai, we manufacture standard thermal protection sleeves, such as firesleeve, silica fiber sleeve, nylon sleeve, etc. These are for hydraulic pipe protection, cable protection and wire harness protection. It’s quite simple to define the size, mostly based on the inner diameter.
Well, Hantai is a tailor as well. The difference is that Hantai customizes thermal insulation jackets & insulation sheets for machines, pipes, valves and many other industrial parts. As a tailor, we use the same tools for our work, whether it’s serving humans or serving iron parts, like measuring tape, caliper.
For humans, it’s less complicated, after all, human shares a general form, with arms, legs, etc. For machines and industrial parts, wow, it’s much more difficult because of the numerous different sizes, shapes and conditions.
Before we start the production of customized thermal insulation jackets, we used to work like this for years.
Frankly speaking, measuring the machines doesn’t look exquisite at all. It’s undeniable that this traditional approach entails certain risks/disadvantages.
All of the above risks eventually lead to potential repeated measuring work, imperfect thermal insulation jackets and late delivery.
Hantai is endeavoring to be a better supplier for customers. What should we do to improve? We’ve been thinking and searching for good ideas.
In the autumn of 2023, we finally found a great helper. This helper works so effectively that it has greatly improved our work and significantly provided us with fast and accurate dimensions for extremely complex valves and industrial parts. It’s a professional 3D scanner. The only disadvantage so far is that this scanner is so expensive.
