Extreme temperatures require reliable thermal protection materials. Magma can reach approximately 700°C to 1350°C, creating severe challenges for materials exposed to both high temperature and pressure. HANTAI introduces several high-temperature fiber protection materials, including basalt fiber, silica fiber, quartz fiber and alumina fiber sleeves, tapes and fabrics, while sharing its journey to GIFA Indonesia and METEC Indonesia to provide thermal protection solutions for mining, refinery and metallurgy customers.

· Temperature Is Not the Only Challenge
If we only take temperature into consideration, all the mentioned materials might be able to shield. However, when magma flows, the pressure comes along. Limited things could withstand such a high temperature and strength. So, we’d better stay far away from it, the warning is normally staying 3km-5km away from the volcanic eruption.

A JOURNEY INTERRUPTED – BUT NOT ABANDONED
On September 7th, we were planning a trip to Jakarta Indonesia. However, the consecutive volcanic eruption in Indonesia brought large scale of ash in the sky. One of the most vibrant eruptions from volcano Anak Krakatau was only 150km from Jakarta, it became no longer safe for the flights, and Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was shut down. Our flight was canceled in the morning, giving us limited time to make change. We were therefore put at an “intersection”. To proceed via a transfer in Malaysia or give up the Indonesia trip? We had never experienced such a situation, volcanic eruption!

If you had been in my position, what would you have decided to do?
GO! We decided to proceed!
As long as there’s a chance to fulfill our commitment, e.g. the appointment with customers, exhibiting in the tradeshow, bringing thermal protection solutions to local customers, we MUST go, though we might be stuck at Malaysia and ultimately have to return.

We departed at 1:35AM and arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 5:40AM.
It was not an easy journey at all, frankly speaking, we were really anxious, being afraid of getting stuck in Malaysia. God bless! The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport opened timely and we landed in Jakarta at 9:40AM, the tradeshow was next-day.

· GIFA Indonesia and METEC Indonesia
GIFA Indonesia and METEC Indonesia was a great show, with a lot of visitors. However, it was a tradeshow complex with a few different themes. Some visitors came for other products but not the thermal protection products. Nevertheless, we met the customers, reached an excellent exhibit by exchanging the ideas of thermal protection solutions for mining customers, for refinery customers, for metallurgy customers. And it was delighting that we did feel the great passion of Indonesian people! Jakarta, we expect to come back again!
